October 14 - Treasure Island to YMCA

Shark Sarah Marks braved the cold, rough water and possible encounters with real-life sharks in this 2nd annual bay swim. She posted an impressive time of 41:28.3 for the 1.5-mile event.

October 1 - Tiburon Mile

Catie Anderson represented Temescal at "The World's Premiere International Open Water Swim", posting a stellar time of 24:47 for the one nautical mile (1852 meters) event. She placed 13th amongst elite women, and 40th overall. Way to go Catie!

September 8 - Brothers Smith

August 20 - Manatee 2x1

Orca Courtney Smith and his brother Curt loosed wake at the open water relays at Horseshoe Lake, placing eighth overall and first in the brother/brother category with a combined time of 46:14! Big Court turned in a 23:43 for his 1-mile leg. Congrats Smith brothers! Complete results here.

August 11 - World Masters Open Water

Temescal was well-represented at the open water event hosted by the World Masters Championships Friday. The 3 km rough-water course began and ended at Crown Memorial State Beach in nearby Alameda, treating swimmers to several unique features, such as a calm bay in the beginning, a narrow channel and bridge in the middle, and massive swells in the end. Here's how Temescal did in this international event:

Ten Temescal swimmers (eleven counting Tom McCarty) made the trip to Stanford Tuesday to compete on the world stage. We stood amidst masters swimmers of all ages from all over the world, giants of collegiate glory, and former Olympians.
