Reason for Move

We are temporarily moving our practices to Defremery Pool because of much needed repairs and upgrades to Temescal Pool. The upgrades include reflooring of the mens and womens locker rooms.

Move Schedule

• The 5:45 morning practice on Monday, April 28, will be the first practice at Defremery.
• The regular practice schedule will not be altered, except for holidays, which will be announced as usual.
• We will continue meeting at Defremery until the upgrades at Temescal are complete. The current estimated date for completion is May 16.

Pool Information

A few items of note, from Bruce Bagnell:

We have used Defremery many times before.

The pool is very similar to our pool in size (100 ft)

The neighborhood is not great and we have had minor problems before, people should plan on exiting the pool in pairs.

Don't leave any items visible in cars.

The pool can only be entered thru the front door, so what we have done before is to monitor the door for about 5min at the start of practice and then to lock the door and tell all late-comers to bang bang bang.

But this should be true where we are now, not just at Defremery!

Map and Directions

Directions from North Oakland / Berkeley:

1. Take 580 W or 580 E or 24 W to 980 W
2. Take 18th Street Exit
3. Turn right onto 18th Street
4. The pool is just a few blocks ahead on the left, between Adeline and Poplar

The address is 1269 18th Street.
